If you’re a LuLaRoe lover like me, you’ve probably noticed that everywhere you look consultants are going out of business. There are GOOB sales all over Facebook. At least four consultants I know personally have gone out of business in the last six months. Is it because sales are down? Maybe. People don’t seem to be holding their breath for pop-ups and online sales like they were a year ago. Maybe it’s the crazier and crazier patterns. Maybe it’s the fact that you just can’t seem to find that cute top you swore you saw in someone’s inventory. Some consultants…

I’ve been using a Bullet Journal for about two years now, and I’m starting to wonder, Is the Bullet Journal a fad? It’s easy to see in hindsight how something that blows up as quickly as the Bullet Journal did can end up being a short-term craze. People get excited about a new gadget, a new system, a new status symbol of wealth or privilege or introspection, and we all dive in headlong without taking stock of the best practices and potential benefits. Maybe I was one of those people who got swept up in the craze. I was mesmerized by…

So, when the Carly dress came out last year, I was just as mystified as some of you. Are they selling a nightgown? Why would I want to buy a $55 dress that hugged my bosom and then flared out, and was two different lengths in the front and in the back? All the models were flaring the dress out with their hands, so of course, it looked flowing and ethereal. But when you tried it on in real life, it just made you look lumpy and way bigger than you are actually are. To be honest, I didn’t buy…

I made it about ten days doing everything right. I was feeling good and doing well, although day 9 and 10 I had to walk away from the kitchen. I wasn’t hungry, just trying to avoid old after kids bedtime snacking habits. I even made it through my birthday without eating cake, and opted for a fruit salad instead. But then, I got strep throat. The first day, I didn’t eat much at all, and the second day, all I wanted and could eat was ice cream. So I broke the Whole30 rules and had some. That took me down…

My home is my sanctuary. Is that cheesy? Yeah, but I don’t care because it’s true. I spend so much of my day at home with young kids that I need it to be a place that makes me feel happy, productive, and inspired. So I give a lot of thought to how the space looks. I also just love interior design. I could spend hours perusing Pinterest for inspiration. The only problem is I’m a little lazy. I’m great with the big stuff: picking out a new couch, selecting an accent wall color. I’m decisive and confident—no wavering here. It’s just that when…

Are you someone who makes New Year’s resolutions? I love the chance to think through what worked for me in a year, and what aspects of my life I’d like to adjust. It seems like each year, without fail, I promise myself more time for creativity. For me, being able to sit down with a paintbrush, or with the goal of creative writing, or a list of new ingredients I’ve never tried makes me feel whole. Creativity = self-care To that end, I bought myself a year-long membership to Skillshare in January 2016. If you’re not familiar with Skillshare, here’s how the community…
